The wellness industry is now estimated to be worth $3.4 trillion globally, and the rise of superfoods is growing at a fast pace. Roobar was formed by three entrepreneurs who noticed a gap in the Bulgarian market, and paired it with a passion for health and cooking.
Roobar, since conception in 2012 has grown to be the market leader in the organic raw food bar category in Europe. Sales are close to 1 million bars monthly through distribution partnerships, and direct to customers in 46 countries worldwide.
Today they have their own state-of-the-art factory to produce the bars at an incredibly high quality and most importantly are as delicious and authentic as they were in the beginning.
We were asked to build a portal to demonstrate the quality and personality of Roobar products to customers, distribution partners and the media across the globe.
Creating a partner and customer centric online portal to help reposition the Roobar brand as the leading producer of organic raw bars within the market.
Despark transformed Roobar’s digital presence by creating a mobile responsive portal that embodies the spirit and mentality of the company and its people, as well as communicating the key benefits of consuming their quality raw bars, in a way that is friendly, intuitive, and evocative of emotion. We did this through content storytelling and a clear user journey with individual user types in mind. Despark directed a professional photoshoot, to capture some beautiful, vibrant imagery that reflects the Roobar brand identity and superhero personas of each product.
The initial website was built three-or-so years ago by Roobar on Wordpress, at low cost, however the style had since become outdated, along with the CMS. For a fast paced business, with a rapid expansion, Roobar needed a more robust & intuitive platform and a site that looked visually appealing to entice sales. Through discovering the clients needs and challenges at initiation of the project, we found the best solution for Roobar was to create a simple, cost effective and tailored CMS by using SleepingOwl (Laravel) framework. The new website development offered easy management of content to communicate with customers and distribution partners. The platform would also provide intuitive goals for measurement tracking, which were not available prior to launch. From a marketing perspective the CMS has enabled the team to keep content refreshed, and relevant to Roobar's personality, upcoming product launches and regular news, views and events.
With a global audience it was important to provide multilingual versions of the site, currently at 4 languages and the room for expansion. The portal will soon be introducing its e-commerce function via Shopify, which will seamlessly link customers to the product shop in the relevant language. This allows customers to get their organic snack fix directly from the website, for global delivery. Roobar have a bright future ahead with room for expansion and development, therefore our tailored digital strategy reflects this and has been built with future proofing in mind.
Since launch in March 2016 the websites transformation has repositioned Roobar as a market leader in their industry whilst keeping their authenticity and initial brand purpose.
As a result of the rich, engaging content the website has achieved a low average bounce rate at less than 40%, and the new visual appearance and brand personality of Roobar and each of their products has increased engagement rate levels by 183% through Instagram integration.
Roobar.com has become the preferred destination for raw bar fans and suppliers. In light of this, sales have already increased by 32% worldwide from the initial 1 million bars sold monthly.
Just 2 weeks after launch the website attracted attention from Creative Pool as a ‘featured project’ on their homepage, and were awarded with ‘Special Kudos’ and a ‘Honourable Mention’ from CSS Design Awards and Awwwards.
Most recently Roobar swooped the ‘Best Corporate Website’ award at the Forbes Evolution Awards 2016 for its simple and flavoursome design against some of the largest brands in the market.
